Silvino Cordeiro Rodrigues da Silva has been a hard worker all of his life. Born in a small town around Leiria, his family was not abundant, but fortunately they always had food to eat. His father had a small local business that would provide for the entire family. Silvino reminisces going to elementary school bare foot. To wear shoes, at that time, was a Sunday’s thing. Nevertheless, he finished High School, which at that time only few families could afford. Soon after completing High School, he was called to join the military and go fighting in the in Angola, in the well known “Colonies War”, where he stationed for two years. He returned to Portugal afterwards, and found a job in a company. Soon after he got married to Ivone.
Silvino has always been dynamic work wise, starting off as a factory worker, he got hired, soon time after, by a local bank. When he was 44 he decided to live one of his life dreams: to take a degree. He went studying at Lisbon Nova University and graduated in Anthropology (four years Bsc). He was hired as a High School teacher where he taught for few years. Few years later, he applied for a Master’s degree in Anthropology. After graduation, he was hired to teach in a private University. After retiring, he fell in love with photography, especially coastal photography, dedicating his free time to it.
